Kinetica is a pure arcade futuristic racer built around a single idea: racers wear Kinetic Suits with wheels on their hands and feet, which lets them peel off the track and tear along walls and ceilings of looping circuits at extreme speed. Drafting, boost strips, and a ground-and-air stunt system layer trick scoring over the racing, and the suits give the whole thing a motorcycle-like silhouette unlike most anti-gravity rivals.
Critics in 2001 were broadly warm, singling out the art design, sense of speed, and trick system, while flagging an unstable framerate and a thin package once the novelty settles. It is best understood as a deep cut: the debut from the studio that would later build God of War, dated and content-light by modern standards but still a sharp speed-rush for Wipeout fans and curio hunters willing to reach it through PS Plus Premium.
