About This Game

NetherRealm's DC fighter is distinguished by a loot system most of the genre avoids: matches drop gear that alters a character's stats and appearance, turning the roster into something closer to an RPG wardrobe. The cinematic story mode continues the Superman regime arc with the studio's usual production values.

That gear is also the fault line. It gives solo players a reason to keep grinding, and it complicates competitive play enough that serious matches are typically run with stats switched off. Environmental interactions and stage transitions keep individual rounds spectacular even at low skill. Rated Teen, it suits a player who wants a fighting game with a substantial single-player campaign attached, and it is a harder sell to anyone who only wants a clean versus game.
