Gauntlet is the Asphalt Legends event where you never race a live opponent. You set a defense time on five different 30-second tracks, and other players try to beat it while you try to beat theirs. That one design choice changes what a good car is, what a good lap is, and which division you spend the season in. This guide explains the format, how divisions are decided, and why the combined rank of your top five cars matters more than any single car you own.

How a Gauntlet Season Works

A season runs eight days, with a six-day gap before the next one. At the start you set a defense: five consecutive races on five different 30-second track variations, using cars you choose from your garage. That set of times is what other players challenge.

After your defense is set you can either improve it or go on the attack. In Challenge you pick one of three opponents, and you can preview their tracks, their cars and their car ranks before committing. Winning three of the five races wins the challenge. Quitting a race, leaving the lobby, or winning fewer than three counts as a loss.

Entry Requirements

You need 70 Career Flags and at least five owned cars to enter Gauntlet at all. A defense fields cars from your garage across five races, so the five-car minimum keeps the mode gated on garage breadth rather than on one strong car.

Divisions: Why Your Top Five Cars Decide Your Season

DivisionCombined rank of your top five cars
IUnder 10,000
II10,001 - 14,000
III14,001 - 19,000
IV19,001 - 22,000
VOver 22,000

What Gauntlet Pays Out

Three reward tracks run at once. Daily Gauntlet Challenges pay credits, tokens and class packs for completing challenges. League rewards pay out by the league you finish in, from Novice to Master. Rank rewards pay by final leaderboard position. All three scale with your division, so a higher division pays better for the same placement.

The Gauntlet Market is the part worth planning around. It sits in the shop between Garage and Limited Time Pack, refreshes every seven days, and sells blueprints, epic import parts, decals and keys for a fixed roster of cars organised by division. It is the most reliable way to build a specific car in the game, because unlike packs it is not random.

Tickets and Refreshes

You get five free tickets a day and can buy five more at rising token prices. Quitting during car selection or after a race starts still burns a ticket, so treat the car-select screen as the decision point.

Refreshing your three opponents costs 25,000 credits the first time, rising by 50,000 per refresh up to a 200,000 cap. A fresh set appears on its own every four hours, so the refresh is usually worth skipping unless all three opponents are unbeatable.

How to Practice Without Spending Tickets

Daily Car Loot runs on the same 30-second variant tracks Gauntlet uses, and it is solo with no opponent cars. That makes it free practice for the exact format, and it pays blueprints while you learn: the Chevrolet Camaro LT for finishing, then the Nissan 370Z NISMO, Dodge Challenger SRT8, Porsche 911 GTS Coupe, Aston Martin Vulcan and Lamborghini Centenario for beating progressively faster times.

If you are building a garage for Gauntlet from nothing, that ladder and the Gauntlet Market are the two routes that do not depend on pack luck.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do you need to unlock Gauntlet in Asphalt Legends?
Seventy Career Flags and at least five owned cars. A defense runs across five races, so the five-car minimum keeps the mode gated on garage breadth.
How is your Gauntlet division decided?
By the combined rank of your top five ranked cars, whether or not you race them. Because rank leans heavily on top speed, building a high-top-speed car you never use can still move you into a harder division.
How long is a Gauntlet season?
Eight days, followed by a six-day gap before the next season starts.
How many races do you have to win in a Gauntlet challenge?
Three out of five. Quitting a race, leaving the lobby, or winning fewer than three all count as a loss.
What is the best way to practice for Gauntlet?
Daily Car Loot. It runs on the same 30-second variant tracks, it is solo with no opponents, and it pays car blueprints while you learn the layouts.
