How Game-Scout Ranks Games

Game-Scout ranks PlayStation lists with a mix of structured catalog data, player rating signals, and page-specific topic rules. The goal is to put games that actually match the page topic above games that only match a broad keyword.

Ranking Score

The default order uses a Bayesian rating score. This balances average player rating with rating volume, so a game with a small number of very high ratings does not automatically outrank a widely played game with thousands of strong ratings.

Topic Fit

Content pages can apply stricter rules than general search. For example, a medieval fantasy list can require both the fantasy and medieval tags, while excluding clearly off-topic themes such as sci-fi, space, cyberpunk, post-apocalyptic, modern, or superhero.

Manual Review

Automated tags are useful for discovery, but curated SEO lists are reviewed for relevance. When a high-rated game matches only because of a loose tag, the page rules can exclude it from that specific list without removing it from normal site search.
