About This Game

Moonglow Bay is a voxel-art fishing and cooking life-sim set in a fading 1980s coastal town on the Great Lakes. Players inherit a fishing boat and rebuild the shoreline settlement one catch, recipe and shop upgrade at a time, following a story-driven arc rather than an endless sandbox. Rods, nets, lobster traps and ice fishing feed a cooking loop that supplies the town's revival, and the whole campaign supports four-player local co-op.

The heart is real: charming characters, a warm soundtrack and blocky art with hand-drawn portraits gave the cozy premise genuine appeal. The launch, however, arrived heavily buggy, with glitches, save failures, stiff controls and frame-rate dips that critics said buried the good ideas. Coatsink and Bunnyhug shipped repeated patches, and the 2024 PlayStation release lands more stable than the 2021 debut, though rough edges linger. It suits players who prize atmosphere and a slow fishing-town story over polish.
