The Handsome Collection packages Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel with their downloadable content into one release built for co-op. Both are first-person looter-shooters set on and around the planet Pandora, where guns drop by the million from a procedural system and a cel-shaded art style keeps the tone comic. Handsome Jack, the series' standout villain, threads through as the reason to keep pushing the campaign. The draw is playing together: four players online, two in split-screen on one console, all chasing better loot and skill-tree builds. The trade-off is the treadmill itself, since the appeal of endless gun variety depends heavily on enjoying the grind and the humor, both of which are divisive. For a group that wants a long, laughter-friendly shooter to share it is one of the best co-op options here; solo players will feel the loop's repetition sooner.
